cockles and mussles
(Molly Malone )
traditionnel
In Dublin´s fair city
where the girls are so pretty
I first set my eyes on sweet
Molly Malone
She wheel'd her wheelbarrow
thro' streets broad and narrow
Crying Cockles and mussles alive alive O!
Alive alive O ! Alive aliveO !
crying cockles and mussles alive alive O !
She was a fishmonger
But sure it was
no wonder
For so were her father and mother before
And they each wheel'd their barrow
thro' streets broad and narrow
Crying Cockles and mussles alive alive O !
Alive alive O ! Alive alive O!
crying cockles and mussles alive alive O !
She died of a fever
and no one could save her
And that was the end of
sweet Molly Malone
But her ghost wheels her barrow
thro' streets broad and narrow
Crying Cockles and mussles alive alive O !
Alive alive O ! Alive alive O !
crying cockles and mussles alive alive O !
Oh Glory
(I’ll fly away)
Traditionnel
Some glad morning when this life is over,
I'll fly away;
To a home on God's celestial shore,
I'll fly away (I'll fly away) .
(refrain)
I'll fly away, Oh Glory
I'll fly away; (in the morning)
When I die, Hallelujah, by and by,
I'll fly away (I'll fly away) .
When the shadows of this life have gone,
I'll fly away;
Like a bird from prison bars has flown,
I'll fly away (I'll fly away)(refrain)
I'll fly away, Oh Glory
I'll fly away; (in the morning)
When I die, Hallelujah, by and by,
I'll fly away (I'll fly away) .
Just a few more weary days and then,
I'll fly away;
To a land where joy shall never end,
I'll fly away (I'll fly away)(refrain)
I'll fly away, Oh Glory
I'll fly away; (in the morning)
When I die, Hallelujah, by and by,
I'll fly away (I'll fly away) .
I'll fly away;
To a home on God's celestial shore,
I'll fly away (I'll fly away) .
(refrain)
I'll fly away, Oh Glory
I'll fly away; (in the morning)
When I die, Hallelujah, by and by,
I'll fly away (I'll fly away) .
When the shadows of this life have gone,

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.
T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear
The hour I first believed.
Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come;
'Tis Grace that brought me safe thus far
and Grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promised good to me.
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.
When we've been here ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun.
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we've first begun.
Keep on the Sunny Side
Traditionnel
There's a dark & a troubled side of life
There's a bright, there's a sunny side, too
Tho' we meet with the darkness and strife
The sunny side we also may view
Keep on the sunny side, always on the sunny side,
Keep on the sunny side of life
It will help us ev'ry day, it will brighten all the way
If we'll keep on the sunny side of life
The storm and its fury broke today,
Crushing hopes that we cherish so dear;
Clouds and storms will, in time, pass away
The sun again will shine bright and clear.
Let us greet with the song of hope each day
Tho' the moment be cloudy or fair
Let us trust in our Saviour away
Who keepeth everyone in His care
The town that i Loved so well
Traditionnel
In my memory I will always see
The town that I have loved so well,
Where our school played ball by the gas yard wall
And we laughed through the smoke and smell
Going home in the rain
Running up the dark lane
Past the jail and down behind the fountain
Those were happy days in so many many ways
In the town that I loved so well
There was music there in the Dery air
Like a language that we all could understand
I remenber the day that I earned my first pay
When I played in a small pick-up band
There I spent my youth
And to tell you the truth
I was sad to leave it all behind me
For I'd learned about life and I found a wife
In the town that I loved so well
But when I've returned how my eyes have burned
Just to see how a town could be brought to its knees
By the armoured cars and the bombed out bars
And the gas that hangs on to every breeze
Now the army's installed
By that old gas yard wall
And the damned barbed wire gets higher and higher
With their tanks and their guns
Oh my god what have they done
To the town that I loved so well
Now the music is gone but they carry on
For their spirit has been bruised, never broken
They will not forget, but their hearts are set
On tomorrow and peace once again
But what's done is done
And what's won is won
And what's lost is lost and gone forever
I can only pray for a bright, brand new day
In the town that I loved so well
I can only pray for a bright, brand new day
In the town that I loved so well

Dame Lombarde
Allons au bois Dame Lombarde, allons au bois;
Dessus mon cheval gris
Avec le capitaine
Vous passerez la nuit
Au milieu du repas
La belle est tombée morte
Sonnez , sonnez les cloches
Tambour au régiment
Ma maîtresse , elle est morte
A l’âge de quinze
Mais au bout de trois jours
Son père s’y promène
Ouvrez , ouvrez ma tombe
Mon père si vous m’aimez
Trois jours j’ai fait la morte
Pour mon honneur gardé
La belle s’est endormie
Sur un beau lit de roses BIS
Blanche comme la neige
Belle comme le jour
Ils sont trois capitaines
Qui veulent lui faire l’amour

Le roi Renaud
Le roi Renaud de guerre vint
tenant ses tripes dans ses mains.
Sa mère était sur le créneau
qui vit venir son fils Renaud.
- Renaud, Renaud, réjouis-toi!
Ta femme est accouché d'un roi!
- Ni de ma femme ni de mon fils
je ne saurais me réjouir.
Allez ma mère, partez devant,
faites-moi faire un beau lit blanc.
Guère de temps n'y resterai:
à la minuit trépasserai.
Mais faites-le moi faire ici-bas
que l'accouchée n'lentende pas.
Et quand ce vint sur la minuit,
le roi Renaud rendit l'esprit..
Il ne fut pas le matin jour
que les valets pleuraient tous.
Il ne fut temps de déjeuner
que les servantes ont pleuré.
- Mais dites-moi, mère, m'amie,
que pleurent nos valets ici ?
- Ma fille, en baignant nos chevaux
ont laissé noyer le plus beau.
- Mais pourquoi, mère m'amie,
pour un cheval pleurer ainsi ?
Quand Renaud reviendra,
plus beau cheval ramènera.
Et dites-moi, mère m'amie,
que pleurent nos servantes ici ?
- Ma fille , en lavant nos linceuls
ont laissé aller le plus neuf.
Mais pourquoi, mère m'amie,
pour un linceul pleurer ainsi ?
Quand Renaud reviendra,
Terre, ouvre-toi, terre fends-toi,
que j'aille avec Renaud, mon roi!
Terre s'ouvrit, terre fendit,
et ci fut la belle englouti.
